Information for people with mobility impairment

 

Disabled parking / Ferry service

There is no road or path to the St Bartholomä peninsula on the shore of the Königssee. There are eleven designated disabled parking spaces in the public car park in Schönau (subject to a charge).

Passengers are transported from Schönau across the Königssee to St Bartholomew's Church by the Bayerische Seenschifffahrt. The landing stage for the electric boats and the ticket office are approx. 350 m from the car park (level path).

Disabled toilets

There is a disabled WC in the first boathouse on the lakeside in Schönau; the path to it is level.

There are two barrier-free toilets on the St. Bartholomä peninsula (each accessible with a Euro key): In the waiting hall at the jetty and in the outbuilding behind the restaurant

Entrance

The interior can be reached steplessly via a ramp. The double-leaf entrance door is opened inwards manually (passage width 1.33 m when the door leaves are open).

Interior

The church room is at ground level, the flooring is even and non-slip. Seating is available.

 

Former hunting lodge – St. Bartholomä restaurant

Access to the restaurant is step-free; the door is opened manually. Some of the dining rooms are located on the upper floor; these cannot be accessed barrier-free.
