Imperial Castle of Nuremberg: a comprehensive building project is completed
Over the past few years, large sections of the imperial castle have been renovated, modernized and restructured. Our visitors can now enjoy a castle café, a spacious ticket office and a multifunctional event room. The area in front of the museum entrance has also been re-plastered and equipped with seats.
A bronze model of the castle, around two metres high, is a particular highlight of the newly renovated ticket office area.

The legend of the fairy-tale king: King Ludwig Museum Herrenchiemsee
The Fairytale King
Where did the fairy-tale king sleep at night? You can find the answer in the King Ludwig II Museum in the south wing of the New Palace of Herrenchiemsee. The first bedroom of the former ruler is a recent addition to the museum. It was completed through the repurchase and restoration of two original commodes and sheds light on the world of the king’s imagination.

Tip:
This year another building on the island was opened – the Island Cathedral. For over 100 years it was inaccessible to the public. Now there are guided tours providing information about the eventful history of the building, which for a while even housed a brewery.
